He found himself wondering where the best patients – those with conditions treated by the practice, who followed through on care recommendations, and of the right payer mix – were coming from and how to get more of them. Data revealed they were the patients referred by another provider, so that’s where Dr. Rominski focused his marketing attention.
Dr. Rominski developed a system to ensure his referral sources were taken care of and hired a person with the needed skill set and standards necessary to represent his office. He then spent the next decade refining the process.
When he founded Doctor Referral Institute, Dr. Rominski’s tried-and-true new-patient referral building system included face-to-face representation, referral protection, and a reporting system second to none. Referral sources were educated about who they should send their patients to, which helped to drive high-quality, case-specific patients to the right health care specialists.
The results were outstanding, and the size and success of his business grew. In just two years, Dr. Rominski doubled the volume of patients and increased Doctor Referral Institute revenue by more than 300 percent.
 Ron is an accomplished IT and sales operations executive. He has held positions in medical device manufacturing at the director level and has earned both internal and industry recognition for his work in the field. When he isn’t glued to a computer screen, he spends time with his children and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity.

 Matt oversees our management advisory services, in which we partner with organizations to achieve ongoing growth and sustainability. Matt spearheads the Management Development Academy and works with organizations to create and implement short- and long-term business plans.

Chris Kelly is a 27-year veteran of healthcare law, having served as the general counsel for public and private companies, including AmSurg, US Anesthesia Partners, and Quorum Health Resources. He also partnered with multiple private equity firms to start a physician staffing company as its chairman and CEO. He has two law degrees, including a master of laws degree (LLM) in healthcare law from DePaul University in Chicago. He has closed more than 200 transactions in his career and has unique experience for Oklahoma and beyond. While at AmSurg, he gained extensive public policy experience serving as chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association in Washington, DC. A graduate of Texas Christian University and the OU College of Law, his primary focus is on healthcare transactions, including assisting physician practices with private equity partnerships.
